Assisting families Afterfires by & with community Support
Being a 501(c)(3) that runs on community support, we wish to have full transparency with our community.
This page will show the man hours and resources used to assist our clients.
The need for support after a fire is great and the need for that support in the first few months is critical to ensure our clients don't go from situational homelessness to chronic homeless. So in sharing, we hope to inspire others to give a Hand up after a Fire. Here we will post our most current reports.

Choose Joy Foundation Impact (Past 12 Months)
Choose Joy Foundation supports families displaced by house fires during their first year of recovery by assisting with basic needs such as food, clothing, and access to shelter. We sustain this work by staffing community events while also creating paid gig opportunities for individuals experiencing poverty or housing instability.
Over the past year, we assisted 154 individuals and families with essential resources and advocacy. Through community events and seasonal fundraising initiatives, we provided paid gig work to approximately 50 individuals, many of whom were experiencing homelessness or financial hardship.
Our programming supported local artists, vendors, and volunteers, promoted public safety initiatives, and partnered with organizations such as Ruritans and Toys for Tots, assisting with holiday toy distribution to 5,574 children.
Choose Joy Foundation is primarily volunteer-run. All funds raised are reinvested directly into programming, and in several cases we absorbed operational costs to ensure services continued uninterrupted.
